A skilled entrepreneur, leader, industry influencer, and highly accomplished Senior Management Professional, Chris Rivers of Portland, Oregon, has established himself as an industry leader in grassroots sports marketing. He has been working for more than 20 years in the sports marketing industry, gaining progressive expertise and honing his talents and acumen.
While building professional experience, Christopher Rivers demonstrated success in managing a budget of $60 to advocate for the athlete’s voice across brand marketing and business sponsorships while also managing brand activations, grassroots initiatives, endorsements, and brand sponsorships. He has proven experience using consumer insights and analysis to create strategies and plans that drive newsworthy and innovative campaigns.
Since 2018, he has been working in brand management and sports marketing as the President of Professional Athletic Career Development for Tribute Sports Management out of Oregon. In this role, he provides career assistance to half a dozen athletes, and he acts as a professional life coach for young professionals and college students, guiding them with direction on career advice. Christopher has also held the roles of Basketball Sports Marketing Director, Director of Global Sports Marketing, and NBA Sports Marketing Senior Manager.
Alongside his skills and acumen in athletics, Chris Rivers is also talented in areas that include brand management, meeting facilitation, scenario planning, campaign management, team leadership, mentoring, coaching, sales management, consumer insights, client relations, and more. Christopher holds his degree in Rhetoric and Communications from the University of California, Davis.
Chris Rivers also believes in the importance of being involved in one’s community. He coached the Lacross and Football teams for Wilsonville Youth athletics, and he spent five years coaching the Clutch Players Basketball team in Portland. Professionally, he’s a board member of the Sports Boost Foundation in Portland, and he is a former board member of Shooting Touch in Boston.
As a professional and in life, Chris Rivers is a straight shooter. He believes in transparency in speech, genuineness in life, and open and honest communication, but he’s never afraid to be witty or silly when the situation calls for it.
